According
to the Jamaica Star A
group of high school students from Clarendon, between the ages
14 to 18, are now in custody after they were picked up by the
Spaldings police at two separate houses in the small rural town.
Spaldings police reported that the group, of two girls ages 14
and 15 and four boys, two 15, one 17 and the other 18, were held
by the police at about 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
It
is reported that when the police, who were informed by concerned
residents in the area about what was being observed at one of
the houses from before December 23, went to a premises they held
the 14-year-old girl in a bed with the 18-year-old boy.
The
police team, which it is understood was informed that both girls
were reported missing for sometime, then went in search of the
15-year-old girl, who was reportedly discovered at another house
in Spaldings in the company of the other three teenage boys.
The
Jamaica Star reported
that the girl was caught in a compromising position with the three
boys and that they were watching pornographic movie when they
were found. They were taken to the Spaldings Police Station where
they were processed.
The
18-year-old boy and the other boys were slapped with charges of
carnal abuse under the Child Care Protection Act. The oldest child
was taken to the Christiana police lock-up while the other boys
and the two girls were taken to separate places of safety where
they will be kept until they appear in court on Wednesday.
